Kookaburra

The Kookaburra has a big beak and is about 45cm long. They eat small animals, snakes, insects, and lizards. They nest in the hollows of trees. The mother sits on between 1 and 6 eggs at a time. The young stay with their parents for 4 years.

Wedge Tail Eagle

Its wings are up to 2.2 metres across. They have feathered legs and a wedge shaped tail. It eats small animals such as rabbits, dingo and kangaroos and lambs.
A mother has 2 chicks in a year. It can fly up to 2000metres high and has very good eyesight to find its food.
They are found in Australia and Tasmania.

Emu

Is the largest bird in Australia, they can grow up to 1.8 metres high. It can run very fast and also swim well. They eat fruit flowers, insects, seeds and caterpillars. They eat large stones to grind up their food. The father sits on the nest and raises the babies for 18 months.

Black Swan

Is up to 1.5 metres long. They live in lakes, rivers and on the coast. They live in flocks. When theyre flying together, many die from crashing into each other because they arent good at manuvering. They eat water plants, seeds, small fish and frogs. The mother has up to 10 chicks at once.
